How to Use

1. Wet your hair and scalp. Take 8-10 pumps which can cover the whole scalp
2. Use it only on the scalp and not on hair unless hair are dirty
3. Rinse your scalp with water and rub hair while rinsing for cleaning hair gently
4. Use it 1-2 times a week for dry scalp and 2-3 times a week for oily scalp. Use just water on other days.

It might take time to get used to the non foaming feeling. Scalp produces excess oil when you use a foaming shampoo which takes a few weeks to become normal when you switch to non foaming.

Yet to feel the difference

I have a very oily scalp and have dandruff since years. I have tried every possible shampoo that claimed to reduce dandruff, even got treated by a dermatologist, but nothing helped. After every hair wash, my scalp gets oily again and the dandruff and itching is back! Recently, I have been facing severe hair loss as well. Saw the reviews of honeststory cowash and thought to give this a try. Been 3 weeks since I have been using it, it was difficult to get adjusted with the non foaming part. My scalp does get oily because of the humid climate and since I workout every day. I have to wash my hair every alternate day or else the dandruff comes back. I am hoping to see a difference after 2-3 months. Shampoo gets over really fast because I’m not sure how much to use because of the non foaming formula.

Frequently Asked

How does a foaming shampoo damage hair?

Any shampoo which foams or creates bubbles removes everything from the scalp including natural oil & good bacteria!

So it’s the overcleaning which we have started doing in the last 100 years which damages hair & causes hair issues.

When you strip natural oil your scalp produces excess oil to compensate for oil loss making scalp overly oily. So we make our scalp oily and hair dry with foaming shampoo. Eventually our scalp oil depletes which makes scalp dry as well.

Do I need to use Cowash on my scalp only? How to use it?

Yes, but it can be used on hair as well when they get dirty.

Hair are dead proteins so they need cleaning only when they get dirty with food, mud etc. This is how humans have been cleaning since ancient times. Even shampoos were originally invented to clean scalp but with time people started using them on hair as well.

Refer ‘How to Use’ section for detailed instructions for usage.

How to treat dry dandruff & oily dandruff with this Cowash?

If your dandruff falls on your shoulders then it’s dry dandruff else it’s an oily dandruff. Dry dandruff needs less frequent cleaning (1-2 times a week) whereas oily dandruff needs more frequent cleaning (2-3 times a week).

Do I need to use hair oils?

You don’t need hair oils if you’re not stripping your natural scalp oil. Scalp oil is the best hair oil for you because it can do things which hair oils cannot do.

Our ancestors used hair oils but they didn’t remove them completely as they used gentle cleansers. When you remove them completely you also remove the good things which keep hair healthy- natural oil & good bacteria. If you cannot leave some hair oil in hair like them after washing then use a few drops or don’t use it at all if you have an oily scalp.

Dermatologists who talk about the latest research based truths like Dr. Sandy Skotnicki promote that hair oils are not required.

Do I need conditioner with this product?

No, this cleanser will clean and condition at the same time. If you still want to use it then you can use one.
